Our main goal is to make you a SATISFIED CUSTOMER!
In the beginning we were J.B.’s Custom Cards, then Julio’s Entertainment Collectibles, Julio’s Collectibles and finally arriving at Julio's NonSport Depot. We got our start in 1991, in the middle of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles phenomenon. Early that year, Julio put together three turtles sets that were available from packs purchased at Toys ‘R Us for his son Jason who was six years old at the time. Julio worked at a supermarket with lots of co-workers who had small children and he got the idea to take a binder of the card sets to work and see if he could possibly get some orders. Lo and behold, Julio sold over $300.00 in card sets that day! Thus, a business was born!
Soon thereafter, Julio began buying and selling cards at various show locations in the metropolitan L.A./O.C. area. He experimented with sports and non-sports cards, eventually sticking with non-sports only. Approximately one year into the business, Julio was able to get a permanent booth space at the Frank and Sons Collectible show in the heart of Los Angeles. This was the premiere weekly show in the country at a time when there were hotel and mall shows every day of the week.
After 3 years of working 2 jobs, with Jeanne’s support, Julio quit the grocery business, giving up a steady paycheck and Union benefits, to see if he could build a successful full-time business. That was 1994, when non-sports took off like a rocket. The timing was right and as they say, the rest is history. Eventually, Jeanne quit her job and 8 years later we’re still going strong!
